Official Trivia Rules
These rules are designed to keep the game fair, simple, and fun for every team. The host has final authority on scoring, answer review, deductions, and game decisions.
1
Team Registration
- Each team must register using the official game code provided by the host.
- Teams should use an appropriate team name.
- The host may edit or remove team names if needed.
- Only one device should be used to submit answers for each team.
2
Answer Submission
- Teams are responsible for submitting their answers before the round is locked.
- Answers may be updated while the round is still open.
- Once the host locks a round, answers can no longer be changed.
- Spelling does not have to be perfect, but the answer must clearly identify the correct response.
- The host has final authority on whether an answer is accepted.
3
Rounds and Scoring
- Each trivia game is made up of multiple rounds.
- Regular questions are scored based on the round number unless otherwise announced by the host.
- For example, correct answers in Round 1 are worth 1 point each, Round 2 answers are worth 2 points each, and so on.
- Bonus questions may include a wager or special scoring rule.
- Scores shown on the leaderboard are subject to host review and correction.
4
Bonus Questions and Wagers
- Bonus questions may allow teams to wager points.
- A correct bonus answer adds the wagered amount to the team score.
- An incorrect bonus answer may subtract the wagered amount from the team score.
- Teams should review their wager carefully before submitting.
- The host may adjust bonus scoring when necessary.
5
Double Round
- Each team may double one round per game if the host has enabled this option.
- A double round can only be used once.
- The double applies to the round score according to the host’s game format.
- Once a double round is used, it cannot be moved to another round unless the host makes a correction.
6
No Cheating
- No phones, search engines, AI tools, messaging apps, or outside help may be used to find answers.
- Teams may not leave the trivia screen to look up answers during active play.
- The app may log suspicious activity such as switching away from the trivia screen.
- The host may apply point deductions for cheating or suspected cheating.
- Repeated or serious cheating may result in removal from the game.
7
Leaderboard
- The leaderboard is controlled by the host.
- The host may hide or publish the leaderboard at different points during the game.
- Leaderboard standings are unofficial until the host completes review.
- Final scores are determined by the host.
8
Host Authority
- The host is responsible for running the game, reviewing answers, resolving disputes, and finalizing scores.
- The host may correct scores, adjust answers, apply deductions, delete inappropriate teams, or lock rounds.
- All host decisions are final.
- The goal is to keep the game fair, fun, and moving smoothly.
Simple Rule of Thumb
Play fair, submit your answers before the round locks, and let the host make the final call.
